Antonio Scarponi is an architect who thinks like a designer, draws like an artist and dreams like a poet. He is the founder of the Conceptual Devices practice based in Zurich. He studied architecture at Cooper Union, NY and at IUAV, Venice, from which he holds a PhD in Urban Design. In 2008 he was the recipient of the Curry Stone Design Prize, awarded to social design pioneers. In 2016 he represented Italy at the Venice Architecture Biennale. The following year in 2017 he was awarded the «Golden Rabbit, Hochparterre Best of the Year» in the Design category for an educational project that engages design students with a «here and now» attitude in a refugee camp.
